Fiji is a wonderful country composed of more than 300 islands and situated in the South Pacific. The majority of its people live on the two main islands: Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. The capital, Suva, is situated on Viti Levu. The international airport, which has direct links with Australia, USA and N-Z is in Nadi, West of Viti Levu. The population of Fiji is about 900.000 people and the climate here is tropical. Fiji is independent since 1970 and the official languages are English and Fijian. Hindustani is also widely spoken by the indo-fijian community.
